Trey is a 2008 graduate of Daviess County High School in Owensboro. During his high school career, Trey was Student Body President, Student Council President and won Homecoming King, Best Leadership Award, and the superlative "Most Humorous." Trey also served as a page in the U.S. House of Representatives while in high school.
