Biographical Sketch

  • In the summer of 2010, Michael studied abroad at Moscow State Institute of International Relations, one of the world's premier institutions of global affairs studies. The following summer Michael received a David Hershberg Scholarship and Etscorn International Research Award to conduct research on Second World War bilateral relations of the Soviet Union and Great Britain in the Churchill Archives Centre at the University of Cambridge. In the 2011-12 academic year, Michael studied at Moscow State University on a David L. Boren Scholarship from the National Security Education Program, as well as several other supporting grants and scholarships. While on that study abroad, Michael interned with Memorial Human Rights Group.

High School

  • Michael is a 2009 graduate of DuPont Manual High School in Louisville, where he was president of the Young Democrats Club and co-captain of the debate team. He was also a member of the French National Honor Society and the Class of 2009 steering committee.
