The McConnell Center's Spring 2010 public lecture series kicks-off with a debate featuring Doug Bandow (Cato Institute) and Rob Boston (American United for the Separation of Church and State). The panelists will consider the place of religion in public life.
The event is co-sponsored by the McConnell Center and the Federalist Society, with the support of the John Templeton Foundation. The event is free and open to the public. Free lunch will be served.
About the Debaters
Doug Bandow is a senior fellow at the Cato Institute, specializing in foreign policy and civil liberties. He worked as special assistant to President Reagan and was editor of the political magazine Inquiry. He writes regularly for leading publications such as Fortune magazine and speaks frequently at academic conferences, on college campuses, and to business groups. Bandow has been a regular commentator on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Fox News Channel, and MSNBC. He holds a J.D. from Stanford University.
Rob Boston is the Assistant Director of Communications for Americans United for the Separation of Church and State and the Assistant Editor of Church & State magazine. He has authored three books on the separation of church and state. His prominent media appearances include CNN, NBC Nightly News, Fox News Channel's "The O'Reilly Factor," and MSNBC's "Countdown with Keith Olbermann."
