Director: Gary L. Gregg, Ph.D.

Dr. Gary Gregg holds the Mitch McConnell Chair in Leadership at the University of Louisville and is director of the McConnell Center. Author or editor of five books on American politics and history, Gregg has more than a decade of experience running educational programs. He is an award winning teacher and has been a national director of the Intercollegiate Studies Institute. He has a bachelor’s degree from Davis and Elkins College and a master’s degree and doctorate from Miami University (Ohio).

Civics Education Coordinator: Malana S. Salyer

Malana Salyer serves as the Civics Education Coordinator for the McConnell Center at the University of Louisville. Currently pursuing a master’s degree in History from the University of Louisville, she received her bachelor’s degree in political science and communication from the U of L in 2004. Salyer has run programs on the United States founding period, the Constitution, and understanding contemporary politics through American history. 

Civics Education Assistant :  Laura C. Hunzinger

Laura Chai Hunzinger received her master’s degree in public administration from the University of Louisville in May 2008 and works primarily with the McConnell Center's Civics Education Program. She received her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Louisville in 2006.
