Feb. 26, 2013 - McConnell Scholars are among 200 faculty, staff and student committee volunteers.

  • Senior Justin Brandt, of Campbell County, has been named a "core member" of the initiative's steering committee.
  • Senior Ben Weyman, also of Campbell County, has been named a "core member" of the technology, demographics and engagement committee.
  • Senior Tyler Bosley, of Kenton County, is part of the advisory group for the academic and research priorities committee.
  • Freshman Connor Tracy, of Graves County, is part of the enrollment subcommittee.

"Our Scholars are leaders on campus and have had the opportunity to think through important questions related to higher education in America," said Gary Gregg, director of the McConnell Center. "I am sure these outstanding young men will serve their fellow students and our university community well."

According to Shirley Willihnganz, university provost, the 21st Century University Initiative is a campus-wide, months-long process to help the university meet its 2020 goals and to better serve the students and community for the decades to come. The initiative has created a steering committee and four content area committees to address key questions facing the university.
