Birzer is currently working on the biography of Federalist Senator and forgotten founder of America, Charles Carroll. He is also in the process of revising a book on Secession Winter and Fort Sumter and frequently gives lectures on the meaning of myth and the liberal arts. Dr. Birzer is a frequent guest lecturer at the McConnell Center.
