Overview of Photography and Digital SLR Cameras

Gain a new appreciation, explore the opportunities, and discover your own creative talents in field of photography. This overview class introduces you not only to camera capabilities, but also to different types of camera lenses, flashes, formats, and composition. Assignments will allow you to experience, practice, and learn new skills. Have fun and share your new photos. Bring your camera (SLR), accessories and manual to each class.

Photography Basics for Digital SLR Cameras

Get more from your digital camera by learning about lenses, flash, digital capture and composition. You’ll also discover how professional photographers make dynamic images. Have fun with assignments that allow you to practice, learn and share. You’ll quickly reach a level of competency that enables you to continue a lifelong pursuit in the ever-changing field of photography. Bring your camera (SLR), accessories and manual to each class.

Advanced Digital Photography

You’ve learned the basics. Now explore these topics in greater detail: lighting techniques, elements of composition, and creating images with impact. A Saturday morning field trip will offer an opportunity to practice your newly learned skills and receive personalized feedback from a professional photographer.

Introduction to Photoshop Elements

Modeled after the professional-grade, industry-standard Photoshop, Adobe Photoshop Elements provides key tools for enhancing, organizing, and sharing photographs. In Photoshop Elements Introduction, you will learn how to create professional-looking images. This class covers the three main workspaces: the Welcome screen; the Organizer; and the Editor, which is used for common tasks such as cropping, straightening, correcting brightness and contrast, and removing red-eye. Basic computer skills are a requirement for this class. Register early - Class size limited to 12 students!

You must bring your laptop with the Adobe Photoshop Elements program to class each night.
