Purpose: publish articles on popular interests and current events
Authors: journalists, staff writers, guest scholars
Audience: general public, educated non-expert readers
References: usually do not cite sources
Formats: print or online; glossy paper, photos, cartoons, ads

Use magazines when:

  • you need articles on popular culture
  • you need up-to-date information on current events
  • you want an article that gives a general overview of your topic

Examples:

  • Newsweek
  • Sports Illustrated
