Access to Kornhauser Health Sciences Library

Kornhauser Health Sciences Library is on the UofL Health Sciences campus, at 500 South Preston Street between Muhammad Ali Blvd. and Chestnut Street. You can access the library 24 hours per day via the website. Map and directions to the Library.

Collection Access

To locate books, journal and other materials in the UofL Libraries, use Minerva, the online catalog. Online resources can be accessed from computers in the Library. Please note: Some online resources are limited to UofL-affiliated users only.

A quality search in the appropriate resource is the key to obtaining the vital information you need as a health professional. Our expertise in using medical/health information sources enables us to design a search strategy and identify appropriate resources to get the best possible results. Document Delivery

Please note: For these service, some fees may apply.

• Interlibrary Loan
  For copies of journal articles or the loan of books use our interlibrary loan service, ILLiad.
  If you have questions, call (502) 852-5769.
• Loansome Doc
  Use Loansome Doc to obtain copies of journal articles after searching PubMed. To use Loansome Doc you must register at the Kornhauser Health Sciences Library. For registration information call (502) 852-1008 or (502) 852-8532.

Continuing Education

• Tours and Orientations
  Tours of the Kornhauser Health Sciences Library and orientations will be provided to groups on request. To schedule a tour or orientation please call (502) 852-1008 or send an e-mail .
• Regular Classes
  Kornhauser Health Sciences Library regularly offers classes on health sciences resources and information retrieval techniques.  Class descriptions or schedule of classes.
• Small Group Instruction
  Instruction in the use of print and online medical/health information resources and in formulating an effective search can be provided for small groups at the Library or any health care facility within 120 miles of the Louisville Metro area. • One-On-One Instruction
  Individual instruction is available to health professionals by appointment. Sessions can be held at the Library or at any campus office or clinic. To schedule a session send an email or call (502) 852-1008.
• Exhibits and Demonstrations
  Kornhauser Health Sciences Library frequently exhibits free of charge at professional meetings of healthcare professionals in Kentucky and the Louisville Metro area. These exhibits enable us to inform you and your associates of new medical/health information resources and the services available at the Kornhauser Health Sciences Library, and demonstrate online resources.
