Return to the Land of Dragons: A Veteran's Quest from the Past, Emotional Liberation, and Mutual Forgiveness

See and hear the story of one Vietnam veteran’s struggle with the ongoing impact of his combat experience in 1967. Michael Moryc's photographs will be featured as part of the events planned to mark the International Day of Peace this fall. His exhibit, Return to the Land of the Dragons will be on display on the main floor of Ekstrom Library from September 19 through October 31. Also, as part of a day-long series of talks for International Peace Day, Michael will give his powerful presentation about his experiences on Friday, September 21st, from 2:45-3:30 in the Chao Auditorium in Ekstrom Library. There will be a reception following his talk at 4:00.

Noted nature photographer, Michael Moryc, talks about his return to Vietnam 40 years after serving there. He describes it as “a journey taken to confront those dragons from my youth. While part of the Vietnam experience has now been reframed for me, there will not be a day, that my life is not in some way touched by having been there the first time.”

Part of International Day of Peace Commemoration.
