CANCELED.
Lenny Cassuto, author of “The Graduate Adviser” column at the Chronicle of Higher Education, will explain the role of the job market in academic culture of our time, and what it takes for graduate students to search for jobs with informed confidence. His talk combines some nuggets of advice about how to apply with a larger discussion of what the market means--and how it enforces some of the more pernicious assumptions that hamstring our profession.
The talk will be followed by a brief reception.
