The UofL Libraries welcomes distance education and online learners. We work with students and faculty in face-to-face, online, and hybrid or blended instructional settings. Off-Campus Access

Use your ULink login to access the libraries electronic databases and journals from off-campus: Connect From Home

Checking Out Books

You may check out books at the UofL Libraries. Present your UofL I.D. at the check-out desk. View the Borrowing Privileges.

Books mailed to your home. Distance education and online learners that live in the United States can have books mailed to their home. Items are not mailed to international locations.

Document Delivery

The library will provide delivery of journal articles and book chapters owned by UofL in PDF format to your email. Request items on the Distance Learning Item Request page.

Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

ILL obtains study and research materials needed by members of the UofL community that are not owned by the UofL Libraries. We do this by borrowing items, or requesting photocopies of items located at other libraries around the world.

Online Chat

Use the chat box to get online library assistance. You only need to type in your question and hit the enter key on your computer. Chat is available Monday-Friday 10am - 5pm (unless otherwise specified).

The course guide integrates a variety of resources such as electronic reserves which provide links to full text articles or book chapter selections. Each course guide can be tailored to your preference as to what works best for your students.
