We often focus our teaching on sharing content with students. Would you like your students to think deeply about the fundamental and powerful concepts that frame your discipline as well? This workshop will demonstrate how use of the Book-in-Common, This I Believe, can engage students in reflection, integration and application around complex problems and concepts relevant to their everyday lives and to your course content. Instructors from across disciplines can explore how integration of this common read can support students’ cognitive development, help meet course goals, and generate meaningful dialogue and student engagement in the classroom. The first 20 participants who register and attend the session will receive a free copy of this year’s Book-in-Common selection.
