The Thinker at the University of Louisville -- Protesting the Loss of a Favorite Instructor

Three students stand by The Thinker, who holds a slide rule. Their sign reads, "How can I stay here without a PhD," in reference to the case of William Lensing. Lensing was a philosophy instructor at a time when the philosophy department consisted of one person. Many students, however, regretted the loss of a talented teacher. Cardinal, May 6, 1949.
