Placing Files in Boxes
- Fill out a Records Inventory and Transmittal Form. Download the form to be completed in Microsoft Word. (Please review the example to see how the form should be completed.) E-mail the completed document to the University Archives

- Keep the records in the file folders. Remove any records from hanging files and binders and put them in regular file folders.
- Place files upright in the boxes in the exact order in which they were maintained as current files.
(Reminder: records must be transferred in acid-free storage boxes. The boxes can be obtained from the U of L stockroom, item # 7520-0370. This current Stockroom page provides information on pricing and inventory. Please note that neither "Bankers" boxes nor other types of containers may be used.)
- Number each container consecutively in the upper right hand corner on the front of the box.
