Policy

The University Libraries policy is to place a Bursar Block on students with unpaid library charges.

Procedures

  1. All UofL libraries (except Law) will place an unpaid library charge indication on the Bursar system for any UofL student with unpaid library charges.
  2. Placing and clearing Bursar Blocks will be done by designated individuals from each of the libraries. The removal of the Bursar Block will be restricted to personnel from the library that placed the Bursar Block.
  3. Payments for lost library materials must be made at the library where the Bursar Block was initiated.

Disturbances

The library reserves the right to ask individuals to leave the building if they are creating a disturbance in any area of the library.

Group Study Rooms

Group study rooms are provided for the exclusive use of faculty, staff, and students of the University of Louisville for the purpose of collaborative study and research.

Groups of 2 or more, or individuals using library media equipment have priority in using these rooms. When not being used by groups, the study rooms may be used for individual study. An individual using any of the Group Study Rooms may be asked to move elsewhere in the library when a group needs a room.

Groups using the study rooms should leave them in a satisfactory condition for use by others.

The Library reserves the right to ask any individual or group not conforming to regulations and guidelines to leave the building.
