4. What specific experience do you have working with your peers? With community members/general public?

5. How does this program fit within your current schedule? Serving as an Ambassador requires a substantial time commitment. Ambassadors work in the LGBT Center for approximately 5 hours per week, represent the center at campus and community events, attend monthly team meetings, participate in Speak Outs, attend leadership retreats, design and implement an outreach project and more! Consider obligations related to school, work, clubs, service programs and other out-of-classroom experiences.

6. What are some of the specific ways in which you would like to grow and develop as a leader?

9. The LGBT Center is guided by Martin Luther King's Principles of Nonviolence. Please share your understanding of the Principles and how they may relate to creating an office environment that is safe and welcoming for all people.

11. What is the biggest commitment you have made in your life? How do you feel about that commitment now?

12. Tell us about a time when you have addressed a difficult or hurtful comment, while still maintaining the dignity of the person making the statement. Given the diverse perspectives and backgrounds of students served by the LGBT Center, there will be times in which Ambassadors are challenged to address comments or views expressed by peers that are offensive or hurtful.

14. Tell us about a time when you addressed a difficult or hurtful situation with a peer when you did not uphold their dignity? What was the outcome? If you were to address a similar situation in the future, how might you handle it differently? Leadership development is a lifelong journey. We all have areas for growth and improvement.
