Call for 2014 Ally Award Nominations

While working to create a welcoming campus community for LGBT students, it’s important to thank the allies who help along the way.  For this reason, the students, faculty, and staff served by the LGBT Center present an annual Pride Week Faculty/Staff Ally Award. Through these awards—presented each year during Pride Week--we seek to honor those who work alongside us every day to dismantle homophobia and prejudice.

Candidates for the award can include any U of L faculty or staff member—LGBT, straight, questioning, or those whose orientation is unknown to you—who is making positive decisions and speaking for LGBT people on our campus.

Think of the decision-makers that you’d like to honor for their dedication, and tell us why you think should be recognized using this form.  The deadline to nominate is Friday, August 29.

The winner will be announced during our keynote event September 22 at 7 p.m. with special guest Richard Blanco.
