"Pink" is an annual amateur drag and variety show sponsored by commonGround, and holds the record as the oldest RSO (registered student organization) event on U of L's campus.
This year, faculty and staff participated in a competition called "Making Change" to see who students would like to see perform in the show. For more on the competition, visit here.
A brief history of PINK: Now in its 15th year, PINK is an amateur drag and variety show entirely produced and performed by students, faculty and staff from U of L and local colleges and universities. Pink initially started December of 1997 as a way to raise money for a Ken Terrill endowment fund. The fund would later offer scholarships to LGBT students. Ken Terrill, known by students and faculty alike as “KT”, was an Associate Professor of Theatre Arts at the university for seventeen years. He was also a long-time advocate for gay, lesbian, and bisexual students. He was a faculty advisor for the Gay, Lesbian, or Bisexual Alliance (GLOBAL) from its inception until his death in March of 1994. The award was endowed by KT’s family and friends as a lasting tribute to his commitment to students and the gay, lesbian and bisexual community.
