LGBT Community in University Tower Apartments

Q: How can I learn more about the LGBT community?
We will be hosting information sessions throughout the year to answer questions and provide information.  Send an email to lgbt@louisville.edu or join the facebook group “Friends of LGBT Services” to stay updated and hear more about the sessions.  Or call us at 502-852-0696.

Q: Where will the LGBT community be located?
A: The new community will be located in University Tower Apartments (UTA), which provides a range of suite-style living options. The LGBT community will have its own floor and will have full access to floor lounges for meeting areas and program space.

Q: How do I apply to live in the community?
A: First you must complete an application for housing, located here.  From there you can select the LGBT community from the themed housing options, and complete the additional information sheet.

Q: How will I be contacted?
A: Once your application has been reviewed, you will be contacted via your email account provided on the application. It is your responsibility to check your email account for details regarding your status.

Q: What happens if I am selected to join the LGBT Community?
A: Once you are approved to join the LGBT Community, the Office of Residence Life will contact you with further instructions regarding room assignments, roommates, move in dates, and other important information. You may also be contacted by the Office for LGBT Services with more information about the community.

Q: I completed a housing intent form, but wasn't approved! What now?
A: Unfortunately, space is limited and not every candidate is guaranteed to be approved. Preference is given to residents who submit their form prior to the deadline. If you were not chosen during this application process, you may reapply for the following academic year. In the meantime, you may still participate in general room selection as long as you have completed the proper forms.

Q: Where can I find the forms needed to apply for the community?
A: You may download the necessary forms on the "forms and applications" section of the Residence Life website.
