LGBT Health certificate series

In 2007, The LGBT Center at the University of Louisville opened its doors on the Belknap Campus and became the 1st LGBT Center on a college campus in the state of Kentucky. Aside from several historic and groundbreaking accomplishments, the LGBT Center recognized the alarming rates of health disparities in the LGBT community and the lack of inclusive healthcare. Therefore, in 2013, the HSC office opened to promote exceptional LGBT healthcare.

The LGBT Health certificate—one of the initial programs on the HSC—was created to close the knowledge gap in regards to providing LGBT culturally competent care  and address significant health disparities in this patient population. The certificate series provides healthcare students and professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to interact successfully with LGBT patients in a self-directed, inter-professional, cutting-edge training program.

The LGBT Health certificate series is free for U of L Students and offered to U of L staff, faculty and community members for a nominal fee of $30, plus taxes and processing fees. The LGBT Health certificate is recommended by 99% of its participants. Read testimonials here.
