Fund Maintenance & Operations
For the first time in recent memory, the state budget doesn’t include any money to cover the costs of daily the operations of university buildings. For example, there’s a brand new Clinical and Translational Research Building in downtown Louisville. The building is terrific – high tech, state of the art – but there’s no state money to help us keep the lights on. Posing the challenge that millions of dollars per year may have to be taken out of academic and research programs to make our budget. We need lawmakers to, again, fund the maintenance and operation of those buildings.
