University of Louisville Dance Marathon (ULDM)
Greetings from ULDM! In 2005, a small group of students started the first annual U of L Dance Marathon. Each year since then, this event has grown to raise more and more money for Kosair Children’s Hospital and gather impressive amounts of involvement. It is now the largest student-run fundraising effort on campus. Students stay on their feet for eighteen hours through the night, and it’s all for the kids! There is always dancing going on, but ULDM is also peppered with other activities. There are relay races, 3-on-3 basketball tournaments, costume contests, and many others. There is even a kid’s area where hospital families are invited to kick up their feet up and enjoy the event alongside the students. Additionally, ULDM is a year-long effort. Participants work hard to raise money throughout the entire year leading up to the marathon. An Executive Board of 12 students plans the marathon and other events to fundraise along with the help of committee members and volunteers. Everyone is invited to get involved!
