Transforming civil rights into human rights: Prof. Sweeny to discuss in virtual conference

Professor JoAnne Sweeny will present at the fourth annual Junior Scholars Virtual Colloquium Aug. 12, 2016.

Her topic is "Transforming Civil Rights Into Human Rights: The UK’s Joint Committee on Human Rights as a Model for American Human Rights Committee."

Hosted by the University of Toledo College of Law,  the colloquium connects a broad range of junior legal scholars from across the country, using Google technology for sharing works-in-progress and discussing them in real time.

The Colloquium was first organized by Jessica Kiser, a professor at Gonzaga University School of Law. This year, Toledo Law assistant professor Agnieszka McPeak will facilitate the conference. In addition to Sweeny, participants this year include scholars from University of Idaho College of Law, Stetson University College of Law, the University of Mississippi School of Law and Barry University School of Law.
