Prof. Goldburn Maynard calls for attention to men's mental health in op-ed

In a March 8, 2018, column for The Hill, Brandeis School of Law Professor Goldburn P. Maynard Jr. explores the issue of men's mental health.

The column, "#MeToo movement helps to shed light on depression in men," highlights several famous men who have recently come forward about their mental health struggles.

"We need more policy incentives to encourage boys to develop a more comfortable relationship with vulnerability and illness at an earlier age. Complaints of illness whether physical or emotional need to be taken more seriously by parents and schools," he writes.

Maynard, an elder law scholar, also discusses the impact that depression can have on the aging population.
