Along with legal community, Brandeis Law mourns the loss of Larry Franklin

The Brandeis School of Law is mourning the death of one of its alumni and a powerful figure in the Louisville legal community.

Larry Bruce Franklin, a 1967 graduate of the Brandeis School of Law, died Jan. 14, 2018, at the age of 80.

Franklin retired as a two-star Navy admiral after serving for 36 years. He was one of Kentucky's most successful trial lawyers, with several of his cases settling for at least $1 million. He was a member of the Inner Circle of Advocates.

In addition to many other honors and community service, Franklin was the 1998 recipient of the University of Louisville Law School Fellow of the Year Award and served as a mentor for several Brandeis Law students.
