The student travel award application are available now. All language students are eligible for travel to countries where the languages they are studying are spoken. Preferences will be given to majors or minors taking courses beyond the elementary stages of language study ans who have definite programs of study in the countries they plan to visit. Students wishing to study abroad in a language where there is no major or minor may also be considered. Awards will be made to the best applications, regardless of language. Be aware that this award is for students wishing to study abroad only.
PLEASE NOTE: Students should not be awarded money for travel to countries that are on the Travel Warning List of the U.S. State Department. Last year a student requested travel to Syria, which resulted in communication with the Dean, the Provost , and others. Also, please remember that previous winners of departmental grants will be given lower priority.
Applications will be available on the door of Humanities 332 and 326. Please note the application deadline of APRIL 1ST.
The awards are divided among all the languages we teach.
