Graduate Certificate Instructions
From the LALS webpage click on Graduate Certificate in LAS
Click on Apply for the LALS Graduate Certificate
Complete a “Graduate Application”
*If you applied to Graduate School on paper and did not apply to Graduate school on-line:
- Choose Create an Account
- Complete User Info and Create username and password
- Click on “Create My Account”
- Click on General Instructions
- Under the Instructions Menu, click on Go to Application
- Under Graduate Admissions, click on Application
- Enter your newly created user ID and password
- Complete page 1
- Save and go to page 2 and complete it
- Complete page 3
- Complete page 4
- Complete page 5
*If you applied on-line:
- Choose Complete Application
Insert your username and password
Note: If you have forgotten your password please write to help@applyweb.com
Follow steps to page 5 from above and update any changed information - Page 5:
Under Admit Term, choose the semester you are applying for the certificate
Click on Major Search and choose Latin American Studies (CLA), which is located under interdisciplinary Studies
Under Degree Type, choose NON
Choose your Education Plans
Under Applicant type, choose NEW
Under classification level, choose Non-Degree - Page 6:
Please note that the first chart is for undergraduates and the second chart is Graduate School. Search and insert all institutions that you have attended.
To find your school, click on FIND then type the full name in the first search box and click FIND SCHOOL. Make sure to choose the correct listing. Complete and go to page 7 - Page 7:
In the comments box, indicate that you have already been accepted into the Graduate School and that you are applying for the Latin American Studies Graduate Certificate. Include the name of your primary graduate degree program., such as M.A. in Spanish. Sign the page by clicking YES and type the date.
Click on SAVE, PAY, and SEND
Note: There is no fee for applying to the LAS Graduate Certificate.
Under Payment Information, choose the last option: “Request a Fee Waiver”
Click Continue
On the following page, choose the first option that states, “Have you been a previous UofL student at the graduate level and are returning to UofL without attending another institution of higher learning?”
Click on Submit
You will receive an email confirmation to the address you have
posted on the application, as well as a letter of acceptance once you
have been admitted to the program.
