Developmental Neurobiologist/Molecular Geneticist

The Department of Neurological Surgery and The Kentucky Spinal Cord Injury Research Center (www.kscirc.org) at the University of Louisville are looking for a new faculty member at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. The current search is focused on adding a strong research program addressing vertebrate or invertebrate CNS development preferably using molecular genetics approaches. The position will have a primary appointment in the Department of Neurological Surgery with a secondary appointment in the basic science department of the candidate’s choice. The successful candidate will join an internationally recognized, cohesive, and collegial group of 10 clinical, basic, and rehabilitation laboratories who make up the KSCIRC. The candidate’s independent research can be in any relevant area, but we are looking for an innovative researcher whose work can collaboratively integrate with the broad areas of interest of our faculty. Candidates at the more senior levels should be internationally recognized in their field with a strong history of publication, funding, and scientific accomplishment. This Endowed Chair represents a major fiscal commitment on the part of the Department of Neurological Surgery, Norton Healthcare, The Kentucky Spinal Cord and Head Injury Trust, and the University of Louisville to the successful candidate.
