CHAMPS II

Creating Healthy Adolescents through Meaningful Prevention Services

Building on our previous US DHHS, Office of Adolescent Health grant (2010-2015) utilizing a cluster randomized control trial design to test the efficacy of two teen pregnancy prevention interventions, Love Notes vs Reducing the Risk vs the Power of We (control condition), at 23 community based organizations with 1438 youth in West and South Louisville, our team is delivering the evidence based Love Notes curriculum to about 1000 youth across Kentucky over the next two years (2017-2019) through a US DHHS, Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB) grant. We are partnering with DCBS, AOC and at least nine residential agencies serving youth in foster care and the juvenile justice system across the state, as well as previous partners and schools in Louisville to reach the youth. We will also run some more CHAMPS Camps. Stay tuned for more details about this important project.
