The Partnership To Prevent Child Abuse
The Partnership To Prevent Child Abuse is a two-year program to increase the wellbeing and safety of children and reduce juvenile delinquency in Louisville and Southern Indiana by identifying, sharing and training the community in the most effective child abuse prevention and intervention programs available.
Applications for Child Abuse Prevention Grants Sought
Community and faith-based organizations are invited to apply for ten mini-grants-for $2,000 each, from the Partnership to Prevent Child Abuse for child abuse prevention efforts. Funds can be used for a variety of purposes, including staff development, investigating community needs and desires regarding child abuse issues, enhancing current prevention programs or services, and developing activities to strengthen families in the community. The mini-grants are part of the overall Partnership effort to train at least 1,500 families in child abuse prevention and provide specialized abuse-recovery treatment to at least 150 children. Applications are due Wednesday, September 17, 2008. Awardees will be announced Wednesday, September 24, 2008 and successful applicants will be notified by phone. Mini-grant funds must be used by June 30, 2009.
The application is divided into three sections:
1. Project Information: Provides information about the project, timeline for using funds, expectations of grantees, and awards and benefits.
2. RFP Process: Provides information about the grantee selection process, including instructions for proper proposal submission.
3. Attachments: Includes a cover sheet, narrative, budget, commitment letter, and RFP checklist. You will be able to type directly onto these documents and print them out for submission.
