The Master of Science in Social Work-School Social Work Specialization is designed to prepare students for careers in school settings. The goals of the SSW specialization are to:

  • prepare Masters level social workers who can help children and their families overcome barriers to learning through interventions in the home, school and community;
  • enable matriculating students, graduates, and other qualified MSWs to meet the Education Professional Standards Board’s (EPSB) requirements for school social work certification; and
  • encourage communities to develop and maintain effective school social work services throughout the state.
