Doctoral Program
Joint PhD in Social Work
The Commonwealth’s first doctoral program in Social Work admitted the charter class in 1997. Master’s level social workers who complete their doctorates are prepared to serve as (a) faculty members in accredited schools of social work nationally and internationally, and (b) administrators, planners, policy analysts, and program evaluators in a broad range of social service agencies. As of November, 2008, this program has 46 graduates,34 students, and 75% of those who begin the program complete it.
