Social Work Recognizes Champions for Change

Champions for Change

On September 13, President Neeli Bendapudi and Dean David Jenkins honored community partners, alumni, and donors of the Kent School of Social Work during their first Champions for Change breakfast. During the breakfast, Dean Jenkins provided a State of Kent Address before recognizing student scholarship recipients and the donors and supporters of Kent School.

Edwin Weis received the Dean’s Alumni Award in recognition for his career at the Cabinet for Human Resources and continued engagement with his class and the Kent School. Dean Jenkins also recognized the class of 1969 as Golden Alumni and several community members as Lifetime Field Instructors for their work with Kent students in their agencies. Community agencies that have been pivotal in supporting the Kent School were thanked for their commitment to social work including; ChildPlace, St. Vincent DePaul and Elderserve.  Each agency was highlighted in this video.

Student scholarship supporters were also recognized for providing opportunities for students to start or continue their education.
