Anxiety Disorders are one of the most common mental health concerns that clinicians encounter. This workshop will help the clinician recognize anxiety disorders in clients and to develop treatment strategies to target and moderate the symptoms that are impacting the client’s quality of life. I will give information regarding the parts of the brain that cause anxiety and offer evidence-based treatment strategies including CBT, strategies to relax and engage the parasympathic nervous system. Learning will be assisted with handouts and worksheets that can be used in working with clients as well as practicing some of the relaxation techniques during the workshop.

At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the biological source of anxiety and how the body reacts to create the symptoms
  • Be able to identify anxiety disorders in clients who are presenting with an array of complaints
  • Understand four different subtypes of anxiety disorders
  • Have basic tools for helping clients manage their symptoms and feel better
Registration is $55 if register before 10/1/2019
