This presentation will provide an overview to the basics of EMDR and the use in practice. The presentation will discuss research findings in the effectiveness of EMDR therapy in comparison to other therapeutic interventions. Participants will gain an understanding of the three-pronged approach to processing and the eight phases of EMDR. Information about use of EMDR with trauma and other adverse life experiences will be discussed. The information presented will provide an overview to EMDR therapy the use in practice and will discuss the process of becoming trained in EMDR therapy. Please note: This presentation does not fulfill requirements to become trained to implement EMDR therapy in practice.
