Reverend Dr. Wanda Lott Collins is a distinguished teaching scholar and professor. Her experience has focused on helping individuals struggling with multi-problems to examine how to get what they want out of life. With practice knowledge that ranges from social service related organizations to religious institutions and community-based programs, her advocacy efforts are directed towards teaching students and families how to become change agents.

Dr. Collins' research goal is to promote understanding of the challenges and strengths of African American families and to recommend effective social work practices and interventions to practitioners that highlight resilience and pro-social behavior that may improve families’ success in life. Her research focuses on psychosocial aspects of caregiving and aging among minority elders, strengths of the African American church, and coping strategies related to Cancer, Diabetes, and Alzheimer's disease.
