This page describes what the Special Population Academic Village will eventually
provide to everyone.
What is in the Special
Population Village:
Welcome and Information Center is
a place to find out about this Academic Village and who comprises the Town
Council.
WTCH is the
village broadcast station featuring announcements from the Town Council,
conference information, village contests, employment opportunities and other
important messages.
Coffee Chat is a special building
featuring three rooms: a room for educators and/or those working with special
populations individuals, a room for parents and families to chat with each
other, and a room just for students to talk with other students.
Homeless Shelter will provide information
for Kentuckians working with this special population.
In the Courthouse visitors to the
village will gather information about recent legisation issues for special
populations.
Transition Central is the station
for traveling through school-to-work transitions, going back into the work
force, learning new skills, etc.
The local library is named the Resource
Haven. This is a library and bookstore that provides the village population
with information on literature, grants, regulations, etc.
The Post Office is a place to leave
messages for others, look at the bulletin board or post to the bulletin
board.
If you are looking for crisis training,
on-line training, intervention training, emergency care, and more, visit
the Crisis Center.
WWW Travel Company
will help village visitors locate other academic villages and site on the
World Wide Web that might be of interest to them.
The TechnoCenter offers information
about adaptive technology (hardware and software), on-line training, and
questions and (hopefully) answers to technology problems.
If a visitor is looking for specific
curriculum information, they might visit the School House. Here visitors
can find information about thematic units, curriculum and portfolio information.
Town Hall
is where visitors can find the Town Council members hard at work.
