To enroll in the College of Arts & Sciences as a degree seeking student
Freshmen applicants:

Graduate from an accredited high school with a g.p.a. of 2.5 or better or successful completion of the General Education Development (GED) tests; and
-
Completion of the Pre-College Curriculum (State of KY); and
-
A composite ACT score at or above the national mean. (as of 2006, the ACT National Composite is 21.1).
Note: students failing to meet minimum standards are advised to contact the Office of Admissions to discuss their eligibility to enroll.
Current A&S Students:
Currently enrolled A&S students who wish to declare Justice Administration as their major, please visit https://louisville.edu/a-s/advising/forms/auth/major.html and complete the declaration of major form.
Transfer applicants with 24 hours earned:
To be admitted in good standing applicants must submit official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended and have a 2.0 g.p.a. cumulative g.p.a.

Transfer students with less than a 2.0 g.p.a. should contact the Admissions Office to discuss the A&S Admission Appeal process for admission in Special Status. Special application deadlines may apply.

Transfer applicants with fewer than 24 hours earned, must also submit their high school transcript or GED and ACT scores.

Transfer students who have earned their Associate's degree through KCTCS should contact the Justice Administration Office of Student Services (502) 852-6567 to discuss the block transfer credit process for general education requirements.
Note: Non-degree applicants: Students who are 25 or older may enroll as non-degree students in the University of Louisville through Continuing Studies for two classes a semester without providing documents.

Anyone seeking admission to the Graduate School, University of Louisville, for purposes of pursuing the Master of Science in the Administration of Justice must provide the following:

Transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work completed. The minimum requirement for admission is the Baccalaureate degree or its equivalent.

Two letters of recommendation from individuals who can speak to the applicant's academic or professional capabilities.

Scores on the General Test Section of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).

An original essay identifying the applicant's background, professional interests and goals. The essay should be 300-500 words and should allow the faculty to better understand the applicant's motivation and potential for graduate work.

Completed on-line application form for admission to the Graduate School, University of Louisville at http://graduate.louisville.edu/app.

$50.00 application fee, check or money order made payable to the University of Louisville.
The Justice Administration Graduate Admissions Commitee will review complete applications and supporting materials and recommend a disposition. The minimum requirements for unconditional admission to degree status are a grade point average of at least 2.75 on a 4-point scale in senior-college courses and at least 900 on the combined verbal and quantitative scores of the GRE as well as a positive evaluation of the letters of recommendation and the essay. In some instances students who fail to meet all requirements may be granted conditional admission.
