I was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. I attended college at the University of Kentucky and Western Kentucky University, and eventually moved back home to attend the University of Louisville. I graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a minor in Justice Administration. I returned to the University in the Fall of 2007 to begin my Master's Degree in Justice Administration. My hobbies include watching football on Saturdays and Sundays, watching college basketball (GO CARDS!), and volunteering as a high school cheerleading coach. I am newly married and live in Louisville with my husband, Matt, and our son, David.

I'm fortunate to been part of UL's Liberal Studies program where I pursued an interdisciplinary undergraduate career.  Justice Administration, Psychology and Sociology all played a part in my curriculum, providing a basis in these interrelated fields that has carried me in this fantastic JA Master's program.  I was the recipient of the Beth K. Fields Memorial Scholarship ('03), Liberal Studies Program Award ('04), and the 2006 Liberal Studies Outstanding Senior Award.  While just about everything under the criminal justice umbrella grabs my attention, environmental crime and domestic violence are my primary interests.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Criminology from Western Kentucky University in 2004.  While at WKU, I was Treasurer and President of NAACP, and Sergeant of Arms of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

I have worked in many different criminal justice agencies; such as a county jail, medium security male prison, job corp. center, Jefferson County Courts, and now I am a graduate assistant for Dr. Keeling and Dr. Vito.  I hope to be a sponge to all of the brilliant professors in this department.

I am the new Vice President of Alpha Phi Sigma Honor Fraternity and will be inducted into Golden Key International Honor Society in October.
