Dr. Wesley G. Jennings, a new Assistant Professor in Justice Administration, was just recently awarded his Ph.D. from the University of Florida, Department of Criminology, Law, and Society in Fall 2007. Prior to his graduate studies at the University of Florida he received a master’s degree in criminal justice (2004) and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of South Carolina (2002).
His research interests expand over a number of criminological, psychological, and criminal justice-related areas, but his primary focus is applying semi-parametric group-based modeling techniques to examine similarities/differences among groups that demonstrate distinct behavioral trajectories over time. In addition, another main area of his research is aimed at investigating questions surrounding specialization, recidivism, and continuity among sex offenders and evaluating the efficacy of sex offender registration and community notification policies. Some of his recent publications have appeared in the Journal of Criminal Justice, Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency, Justice Quarterly, Criminology and Public Policy, Deviant Behavior, Journal of Drug Issues, and the Journal of Criminal Justice Education.
