Alumni

The Department of Justice Administration, established in 1969, has more than 1100 graduates who have, through their careers, made significant contributions to their communities and professions. The Department maintains an active alumni through leadership provided by the Justice Administration Alumni Board.
The Justice Administration Alumni Association engages in a number of annual activities. These include fund raising, sponsorship of the Kenneth R. Nally and Kenneth Marshall graduate awards, organizing and hosting the Homecoming Tailgate and, in conjunction with department faculty and staff, sponsorship and hosting of a graduation reception and annual career fair.
The Department of Justice Administration is proud of the many successes of its alumni. We would like to share those successes and encourage you to continue to be involved with your alma mater. We have numerous ways you may contribute to our program and to the future success of our current students.

Contact Ms. Ginger Brown by e-mail or 502-852-6567 for information on the next meeting date and time.
Participate in the Justice Administration Internship Program or Shadowing Program.
The Department of Justice Administration offers an active and broad-based internship and shadowing program for undergraduate students and an internship option for graduate students. Being a mentor through an internship or shadowing program is a challenging and rewarding experience. Your participation lets you share valuable experiences with students interested in pursuing similar professions. Your experience will provide students with practical insights into their future chose professions. These programs also have related benefits for the agencies involved. Internships provide agencies with personnel to complete tasks and projects that can not be completed by existing paid personnel. Internships and shadowing programs provide agencies with the opportunity to informally screen and evaluate future applicants and to recruit qualified and competent personnel.
Participate in the Justice Administration Annual Career Fair and Web-Based Career Opportunities Announcements.
The Department of Justice Administration Alumni Board sponsors an annual career fair for students and alumni. This career fair has grown significantly in size and scope over the past five years and has representatives from more than 40 local, state and federal criminal justice and other related not-for-profit agencies. If your agency is not a participant, encourage them to do so. More than 200 students, actively seeking employment, attend each year. If your agency participates, come down to the fair yourself to share your accomplishments with theses potential employees and renew old acquaintances with other alumni. You may also encourage your organization to recruit personnel using postings on the Department of Justice Administration Web Site - Career Opportunities Announcements.
Participate in the Justice Administration Homecoming Tailgate.
Thanks to everyone involved, our 14th Annual Homecoming Tailgate Party was a smashing success. We will have our 15th Annual Homecoming in 2008. Watch for more information!
The Justice Administration Alumni Homecoming Tailgate usually takes place on the lawn in front of Brigman Hall. We always plan to gather early and stay late.
If you are unable to join us for our tailgate we’d still like to hear from you. Future Justice Administration Alumni events include Board Meetings and the Holiday Party and Graduation Reception. We look forward to hearing from you. Details about next year's tailgate coming soon. For more information, please contact Ginger Brown at 502-852-0382.
