About

Originally from Johnson City, Tennessee, Brandon moved to Louisville to pursue his Doctorate Degree in Criminal Justice. His research interests include juvenile justice and delinquency, as well as issues pertaining to school security and learning environments. He is currently working as a graduate research assistant for Dr. Ben Fisher on an NIJ funded project concerning school resource officers.

Lieutenant Coffey also serves in the Reserve Component of the U.S. Army Military Police Corps.  His military career includes service as a combat medic in the Tennessee Army National Guard beginning in 2012  He is currently serving as a platoon leader in a Military Police Combat Support Unit in Cincinnati, Ohio.
