Support for desktop computing at the University of Louisville is administered through the Two Tier system. First level support should always be sought from the tier one representative within your home unit or department. If the tier one representative within the department is unable to resolve your issue, the issue will then be escalated to tier two support. Tier two support consists of the IT HelpDesk and various other support personnel within Information Technology. If you are uncertain as to whom to contact for tier one support, a list is provided at http://www.louisville.edu/it/support/twotier/tierone.html/. Sign in using your ULINK Account user ID and password. The list can be searched by department or by individuals last names.

The University of Louisville has a variety of computing facilities available for faculty, staff, and students. This list outlines the supported software packages available on IBM-compatible and Macintosh computers. The levels of support are detailed below.

Full Support (F)
Information Technology provides support for this product by making every effort to find solutions to problems regarding use of the supported product. Full support includes testing of the product as well as consultation and/or training.

Limited Support (L)
Information Technology provides "best effort" problem resolution. Desktop support can be provided for a fee.

Note: although not all software is supported by Information Technology, the HelpDesk will escalate any issue(s) dealing with unsupported software to Desktop Support after the appropriate funding has been identified. A representative will then provide on-site assistance on a "best effort" basis.
