Copyright Violation

Your computer is banned from accessing the Network

The University has received a Copyright Violation complaint from the copyright holder or their proxy regarding the sharing of copyrighted material. This has been traced to your computer. Copyright Violation is not only a federal offense but it also violates your computer account usage agreement with the university.  Please review the University's policies.

Please remove any illegally obtained files from your computer.

Your computer has been banned from accessing the Internet and most university resources. Do not move to another port as you will still be unable to access the Internet.

If we receive another complaint regarding computer violations, your computer will remain banned for the remainder of the Academic Year.

You need to respond to IT - Policy and answer the following questions. Once we have received the correct answers, your access will remain banned for 1 week. You will receive a response with the date your access will be reinstated.

  1. Have you removed all illegally obtained, copyrighted material?
  2. Have you removed the file sharing program(s)? What was the name of the program(s)?
  3. Have you read the Computer Usage Agreement?

You have the right to appeal this issue with the Housing Office at any time.
