Dale Ramsay, CRSS, Director, Intramural Sports. BS in Physical Education from Keene State College in 1980 and MAT in Physical Education from University of Louisville in 1982. Dale is an active NCAA and National Federation basketball official working four collegiate conferences. He was selected to officiate the 1996 Kentucky High School State Championships and 2000 All A Classic. In addition Dale was awarded the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Most Outstanding Official award for basketball in 2006. Dale was Assistant Director at the University of Louisville from 1982 to 1983 prior to becoming Director. Dale also serves as an instructor in the School of Education, Department of Health, Physical Education and Sport Studies.

John Smith, CRSS Assistant Director, Memberships, Marketing, Promotions, Technology, Safety. BS in Recreation Administration from Eastern Kentucky University in 1979 and MS in Recreation Administration from Eastern Kentucky University in 1980. John is a National Federation Football official who was selected to work the 2000 Kentucky State Championship game. He is also a NCAA Volleyball official, serves as Supervisor of Officials for Fast Pitch Softball and Volleyball for over 40 area high schools. In 2006 John was awarded the Outstanding Sports Supervisor award from the Kentucky High School Athletic Association and in 1995 was awarded the Most Outstanding Volleyball Official award from the same KHSAA. John is a certified instructor in CPR and First Aid, AED Use and Preventing Disease Transmission for the American Red Cross. Prior to coming to UofL in 1987 John was the Assistant Director of Athletics for the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government. John received the Outstanding Alumni Award from Eastern Kentucky University in 1995.

David Hatfield, Assistant Director, Facility Operations. BS in Recreation Education from University of Louisville in 1985, MAT in Physical Education from University of Louisville in 1988. Former standout football player for the Cardinals, David lead the team in receptions and yards as well as being one of the nations top ten receivers his senior year. Managed a private health and fitness club for two years prior to returning to the Intramural Department. Outside interests include golf and running.

David Rice, Coordinator of Facility Operations and Sport Clubs. David returns to the University of Louisville, where he received his bachelor's degree in English in 1997, after serving as a graduate assistant at the University of South Carolina and Western Kentucky University, where he earned his master's degree in Recreation in 1999. He then served as the Intramural Coordinator at Georgia College and State University. David was an undergraduate assistant for the Intramural Department at UofL prior to his graduate and professional positions. He will assist with facility operations as well as direct the club sport program. David is an avid sports fan with a particular interest in golf.

Debby Woodall, CRSS, Assistant Director, HSC Fitness Center and Fitness/Wellness Programs. BS in Sports Administration from University of Louisville in 1991 and MS in Physical Education with an emphasis in Fitness/Wellness from University of Louisville in 1994. Debby served as a graduate assistant in the Intramural Sports Department from 1992 to 1994. She is also a certified Fitness Specialist through the YMCA and AFAA.

Justin Peterson, Coordinator of Intramural Sports. Originally from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Justin completed his undergraduate degree at Central Michigan University with a major in History and Social Sciences. While at CMU he served as an official and supervisor in the Intramural Sports program. He then attended Indiana State University where he was a graduate assistant in the Department of Recreational Sports and received a degree in Recreation and Sport Management. Justin is an avid sports fan of all sports and enjoys attending sporting events of any kind.

Roger Metry, Program Assistant. Roger returns to the Intramural Department in a full-time role after serving as a temporary staff member on two separate occasions. Roger received the Intramural Department Service Award in 2003 for his outstanding customer service and professional attitude in working with the many students, faculty, staff and general public that he deals with on a daily basis. He is a former Apple Computer dealer and also enjoyed a career in the Kentucky State government. He holds a BA in Political Science and a MS in Community Development from the University of Louisville. Roger enjoys sports and looks forward to continuing his work with the entire university community.

Frank Nuxoll, Facility Supervisor, Swain Student Activities Center. BS in Physical Education from University of Louisville in 1988. An active volleyball enthusiast, playing in numerous leagues and tournaments each year. Frank is also an NCAA Volleyball Official working in several midwest conferences and served as an NCAA Officials Evaluator for the first two rounds of the 1996 National Championships.

Greg Johnson, Facility Supervisor. Greg comes to the Intramural Department after 6 years in the university's Physical Plant where he was in charge of the Swain Student Activities Center. Greg was honored with a special award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the physical condition of the SAC at the 2000 Intramural Awards Ceremony. Greg has two sons, Gregory and Malik. Greg enjoys weight training and conditioning in his free time. He is active in a number of volunteer roles through his church, St. Johns AME.

Michael Richeson, Facility Supervisor, Swain Student Activities Center & Humana Gym. BA in Political Science from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 1984. Also an instructor at Iroquois Middle School. Michael is a long time basketball enthusiast who has played, coached and officiated at the high school level.

Tim Lynch, Facility Supervisor, Health Science Campus Fitness Center.
1st Shift Sports Facility Supervisor at the Health Science Campus
Fitness Center since its opening in January 2002. Pursuing B.S. in
Sports Administration from the University of Louisville. Tim worked as
an under-graduate Intramural Sports Supervisor from 1992-94. From
1995-98 he served as the evening facility supervisor for the Ohio Valley
Volleyball Center. He has coached volleyball at DuPont Manual and Holy
Cross High schools as well as winning a State Championship with
Assumption High School in 1999. Tim worked as an Education Trainer for
Humana Health Insurance Co.in Louisville from 1999-2001 before returning
to the Intramural Department. Tim also is the Co-Head Coach for the
Women’s Volleyball team at Bellarmine University (since 2004).
Previously he was the Volunteer Assistant for the University of
Louisville Women’s Volleyball team (2003). He is also the Head Coach
for Union Volleyball Club 18 year old team out of New Albany, Indiana.

Russell Eugene Michalski, Facility Supervisor, Health Science Campus Fitness Center & Crawford Gym. 2nd Shift Sports Facility Supervisor at the Health Science Campus Fitness Center starting in August 2008. Received a B.A. in Humanities with a Minor in Sport Administration from the University of Louisville. Rusty worked as an under-graduate Intramural Sports Supervisor from 1995-98. From January 1999-2007, Rusty worked for The Volleyball Connection/ Baxter Jacks, managing their outdoor volleyball facility and leagues. While managing 240 league teams for Baxter Jacks, Rusty also helped manage the Derby Festival Volleyball Classic and Operation Brightside Volleyball Tournaments.
