The InfoSec program at the University of Louisville started the InfoSec Seminar Series in Spring 2004 with the goal of disseminating the latest information regarding technology, policies, and laws governing information security. Each academic year, in Fall and Spring semesters, we organize three seminars. Speakers for these seminars come from University of Louisville as well as other academic institutions and industry. Originally the seminar series started with the support of the Computer Information Systems department but was soon funded by the Capacity Building grant from the National Science Foundation. So far during the past two years we have held twelve seminars. The speakers for the Spring 2006 Seminar Series have been finalized as well.
The seminars are attended by students, faculty, staff and guests. Seminar announcements are widely distributed to the entire U of L community as well as other academic institutions in Kentucky and southern Indiana . The seminars are videotaped for the benefit of those who are unable to attend the seminar. Seminar presentations are for the most part made available on our web site.
