CRASH into New Ideas and Perspectives

"When did Persian become Arab?" is a powerful quote from the movie, CRASH, that makes us aware of sometimes subtle discrimination and how it can be implicit or something we don't even notice. The movie also shows us that sometimes racism is overtly offensive and that prejudice and bias are formed upon meeting another person. These issues are real and in some cases very prevalent. Come and CRASH into lively discussion about racial, ethnic, and national-origin discrimination through clips from this Academy Award winning film. Participants will watch several dynamic clips and debrief questions and activities that will provoke meaningful discussion. We can't find all the answers in one day but this is a great place to start. Step out of your comfort zone and bring a friend! *This film is being shown with permission from Lions Gate Entertainment.
