New FMLA Regulations

The Family and Medical Leave Act was amended for the first time since enacted in 1993 to provide additional clarification and to extend leave protections to the families of U.S. Armed Forces members.  Under these regulations, two new types of leave for military family members were created.  These new regulations took effect January 16, 2009.   Employers have additional notice obligations and new certification forms to complete.   Additional information regarding the new FMLA regulations can be found at http://louisville.edu/hr/policies/PER417.html.
