JOB TITLE Foreman, Steam and Chilled Water Plant

JOB SUMMARY

Supervise the operation and maintenance of the Steam and Chilled Water Plant, the tunnel system, and buried steamed/chilled pipes.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Review plant operating logs several times a day, adjusting equipment with operators as needed.

Perform maintenance including summer cleaning and painting, and repairs on a scheduled and as-needed basis both on and off-line.

Record all parameters of the plant, e.g., gas, fuel, oil, coal consumed, chemical treatment levels, condensate hardness, make-up water, blow-down, and total steam production.

Order coal, oil, water treatment chemicals, and other supplies.

Perform quality control checks on all incoming shipments of coal; notify supervisor of serious deviations from normal.

Maintain logs of repairs, operating logs, daily recorder charts.

Supervise and schedule operating personnel for all shifts and make adjustments as needed.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, AND SKILLS

High school diploma. An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be substituted for the requirements noted.

EXPERIENCE

Five years' related experience.
